During the third quarter of 2024, the tools apps category on the Android platform in Ghana showcased varied performance trends. Based on data from Sensor Tower, we delve into the key metrics for the top five applications in this category.

NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy saw a notable increase in its weekly revenue, rising to approximately $139 by the end of September. The app's downloads peaked in mid-August at around 1.8K, while weekly active users hovered between 11.5K and 13.4K throughout the quarter.

ExpressVPN: VPN Fast & Secure experienced fluctuations in revenue, with a high of $142 at the beginning of July and a low of $21 in early August. Download numbers were strongest in late August, reaching 1.2K, and active users peaked at 5.7K around the same time.

The QR scanner - Barcode reader app maintained a consistent revenue stream, averaging around $60 to $70 weekly. Downloads, however, declined from 827 in early July to 231 by the end of September. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, peaking at 2.4K in early September.

Surfshark: Secure VPN service presented a mixed picture, with revenue dipping to $16 in early August before recovering to $80 by late September. Downloads fluctuated, with the highest number of 419 recorded in mid-August, while active users remained steady, averaging around 860 throughout the period.

Finally, Rapid VPN - Safe Secure Proxy displayed a significant rise in downloads, peaking at nearly 2K in early September. Despite this, revenue saw a declining trend, dropping from $56 at the start of July to just $3 by the end of September. Active users rose to a high of 3.5K in early September, before declining towards the quarter's end.
